In February 2025, Gabriela Bęben, MSc, a PhD student from the Division of Refrigeration and Heat Pumps, began her nearly two-month internship at ILK Dresden in Germany. Her PhD supervisor is Bartosz Zajączkowski, PhD, DSc, Assoc. Prof.
Prof. Matthias Buschmann, Gabriela Bęben, and Paulina Lattig
Ms. Gabriela is working in the team of Professor Matthias Buschmann. The research focuses on modifying the evaporator surface of a thermosyphon heat exchanger using nanoparticles and surface-modifying inserts. The tasks include conducting a series of experiments with the thermosyphon for selected evaporator surface conditions, analyzing the obtained data, and performing microscopic imaging of nanoparticle-deposited structures on the evaporator surface. The aim of the research is to find an effective and efficient solution to improve the heat exchange parameters of low-temperature heat exchangers.
