From now until the end of October, two interns from France, Mr. Remi Vandevelde and Mr. Benoit Villette, students of the French Mines ParisTech, which is part of the Université PSL - a top-rated French university (#1 in France, #26 in the ranking of world universities in 2023), will conduct research in the Department of Thermal Sciences together with the Division of Refrigeration and Heat Pumps. The arrival of the interns is the result of a long-term cooperation between the Department of Thermal Sciences and the scientific teams of the Paris CNAM. This year we are hosting French students for the fifth time, but this is the first time when two interns will simultaneously carry out research work.

Mr. Rémi will be dealing with theoretical and experimental analysis of heat transfer in laminar flow of a working medium containing ferromagnetic nanoparticles. Mr. Benoît will work on the issue of boiling at reduced pressure, involving analysis and experimental investigations on natural refrigerants.
The experimental setups were built and are located in the Laboratory of Multiphase Processes Intensification.
