On December 13, 2024, at Wrocław University of Science and Technology, the Department of Thermal Sciences of the Faculty of Mechanical and Power Engineering hosted, for the second time this year, a seminar titled: Exhaust Gas Treatment Techniques as part of its collaboration with the industry. Upon the invitation of the organizers (A. Świerczok, M. Jędrusik, and colleagues D. Łuszkiewicz, J. Niewczas, and K. Nycz), the seminar was attended by 40 participants representing both:
Higher technical education institutions: Faculty of Mechanical and Power Engineering of Wrocław University of Science and Technology, and industrial entities, including:
and as well heating plants in Bolesławiec and Oława.
Additionally, a representative from Craft Powercon, Sweden, participated in the seminar.
The decades-long tradition of this seminar highlights the sustained interest in the discussed topics. This year, the seminar featured presentations on issues such as the conversion of coal-fired boilers to alternative fuels, methods for upgrading electrostatic precipitators, the application of artificial intelligence algorithms for controlling electrostatic precipitator operations, temperature distribution measurements in boilers, and monitoring emissions of pollutants into the atmosphere.
