The Division of Nuclear Power Engineering of the Department of Thermal Sciences invites you to attend an interesting lecture on the safety issues that Westinghouse has implemented in the development of the AP1000 nuclear reactor technology, including the defense-in-depth approach, passive safety systems and the resilience of the technology to extreme situations like the events at Fukushima. In addition, you will learn about the unique offer of the "2023 Westinghouse Internship Program" - a summer internship program at Westinghouse headquarters in the United States!

In November 2022. The Council of Ministers adopted a resolution to implement the construction of Poland's first nuclear power plant based on safe and proven PWR (pressurized water reactor) technology. The three AP1000 reactors will be supplied by the US company Westinghouse, which has been active in the nuclear power industry for more than 60 years.
